الملخص:
يتناول البحث تاريخ وآثار موقع جميرا الأثري، أحد أبرز النماذج للمدن الإسلامية المكتشفة في جنوب الجزيرة العربية، والواقع جنوب غرب إمارة دبي في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة قرب شاطئ جميرا. يعود الموقع بتاريخه إلى العصرين الأموي والعباسي، ويمثل مركزًا اقتصاديًا واجتماعيًا هامًا، ظل مأهولًا حتى القرن التاسع عشر. بدأت أعمال التنقيب فيه عام 1969 ولا تزال مستمرة، حيث تم الكشف عن 12 مبنى حتى الآن، منها قصر يُعتقد أنه مقر للوالي، ومبنى خان، ومسكن لأحد الأثرياء، بالإضافة إلى مسجد يُعد من أقدم المساجد في دولة الإمارات، ووكالة أو سوق مكون من سبعة محلات ومخزن. تميزت المباني بالزخارف الجصية النباتية والهندسية، والعقود والأقواس والأعمدة. كما تم العثور على فخاريات مزججة نادرة، قوالب لصب المعادن، قطع ذهبية، عملات فضية عباسية، وأدوات نحاسية وحجرية. يناقش البحث أهمية هذه المكتشفات وتأريخها ضمن سياق الحضارة الإسلامية.
Jumeirah Archaeological Site,A model of Islamic cities during Umayyad and Abbasid eras in the south of the Arabian Peninsula, (UAE-Dubai)
Abstract
 The research focuses on the archaeological site of Jumeirah, a unique example of early Islamic cities discovered in the southern Arabian Peninsula, located southwest of Dubai near Jumeirah Beach. The site dates to the Umayyad and Abbasid periods and was a significant economic and social hub that remained inhabited until the 19th century. Excavations began in 1969 and continue to this day, revealing 12 buildings so far. Among the most notable structures are a palace believed to have been the governor’s residence, a caravanserai, and a wealthy residential house. The site also includes one of the oldest mosques discovered in the UAE, as well as a marketplace with seven shops and a storage room. The buildings are distinguished by intricate stucco decorations, arches, and columns. Numerous glazed ceramic vessels, metal molds, gold pieces, Abbasid silver coins, and various copper, bronze, and stone tools were uncovered. The research explores the historical and cultural significance of these findings.
