This study aims at publishing seven coin-like pieces that resemble coins of Roman Egypt (Alexandrian coins) in outer shape and artistic types. These glass pieces are preserved in the Egyptian museum in Cairo under the special register number 2746. The sixth section has classified them as “glass coins” from El- Fayoum. It is worth mentioning that, these pieces are scarcely published through coin catalogues or artistic catalogues specialized in studying and publishing glass. That explains why the researchers have not yet decided how they could be classified and what they had been used for since the sources and modern studies are very rare. Hence, the classification mentioned in the second register book of the Egyptian museum cannot be accepted without further research which will prove weather this classification is accurate or further suggestion is required
يهدف هذا البحث إلى نشر سبع قطع زجاجية تشبه نقود مصر تحت الحکم الرومانى (النقود السکندرية) من حيث الشکل الخارجى والطرز الفنية المصورة عليها. هذه القطع محفوظة بالمتحف المصرى بالقاهرة تحت رقم سجل خاص 2746، بحيث صنفها القسم السادس بوصفها "نقودًا زجاجية" Glass Coins من مدينة الفيوم. ومن الجدير بالذکر أن مثل هذه القطع نصادفها منشورة بأعداد قليلة إما من خلال کتالوجات النقود، أو الکتالوجات الفنية الخاصة بنشر الزجاج ودراسته. ففى ظل غياب الأدلة المصدرية من ناحية، وندرة الدراسات الحديثة من ناحية أخرى، لم يستقر الباحثون بعد على تصنيف محدد لها وفيما کانت تستخدم. وبناء على هذا فإن التصنيف المدرج بالسجل الثانى للمتحف باعتبارها نقودًا زجاجية لا يجب قبوله هکذا على علته؛ لهذا يسعى البحث إما لإثبات صحة هذا التصنيف، أو رفضه مع تقديم اقتراح بديل

النـتـائـج والتوصیـات:

توصلت الباحثة - بناء على دراسة المصادر الأدبیة والوثائقیة ومجموعات النقود البطلمیة والسکندریة - إلى النتائج التالیة:

1)  لم تصدر مصر قط خلال العصرین البطلمى والرومانى نقودًا من أى نوع من أنواع الزجاج.

2)  تمثل القطع - قید النشر- بطاقات منحة الغلال التى تعد وسیلة لا غنى عنها للفرد؛ کى یحصل على حصته من منحة الغلال.

3)  لم یتم العثور على أعداد کبیرة من هذه البطاقات الزجاجیة؛ لأنه کان یتم التخلص منها فور إنتهاء صلاحیتها، وبناء علیه فإن حیازة المتحف المصرى لبعض من هذه البطاقات یعد حیازة نادرة.     

وتوصى الباحثة بتعدیل ما ورد من تصنیف فى سجل المتحف المصرى، على الأقل بعدم اعتبار هذه القطع "نقودًا من الزجاج". هذا بالإضافة إلى أن القطع تحتاج إلى ترمیم قبل المحو الکامل لما علیها من بقایا طرز فنیة
