الملخص:
يتناول البحث دراسة ونشر مجموعة من العملات السكندرية والرومانية التى تؤرخ لعهد الإمبراطور ماركوس أوريليوس والمحفوظة فى المتحف اليونانى والرومانى بالإسكندرية، الإمبراطور ماركوس أوريليوس هو أحد أشهر الأباطرة الرومان الذين حكموا الإمبراطورية الرومانية وشهد عصره العديد من الأحداث التاريخية المهمة التى تُعد العملة هى مرآة لنا لهذه الأحداث، فقد تولى حكم الإمبراطورية الرومانية منذ عام 161 م، وحتى عام 180 م ومن خلال دراسة هذه المجموعة نجد طرزاً جديدة ظهرت على هذه العملات، يتضمن البحث بعض التساؤلات حول الطرز المصُورة على هذه المجموعة، ولماذا اختار الإمبراطور ماركوس أوريليوس هذه الطرز التى ظهرت على العملات الرومانية وغيرها على العملات السكندرية، وما هى التأثيرات السكندرية التى ظهرت على عملة الإمبراطور ماركوس أوريليوس، يقدم البحث تفسيرات لكل هذه الأسئلة، كما يتناول دراسة تفصيلية تشمل مقدمة عن هذه المجموعة ودراستها من حيث الفئات والنقوش والطرز التى ظهرت عليها، بالإضافة إلى كتالوج تحليلى للمجموعة.
A Study of Unpublished Coins Collection Dated to the Reign of Marcus Aurelius in the Graeco-Roman Museum, Alexandria
Abstract:
The research aims to study and publish an Alexandrian and Roman coin collection dating to the reign of Marcus Aurelius, which is preserved in the Graeco-Roman Museum in Alexandria. Marcus Aurelius was one of the most famous Roman emperors who ruled the Roman Empire. His era witnessed many important historical events, and the coinage is a mirror for us of these events. He ruled the Roman Empire from AD 161 until AD 180. Through studying this collection, we found new types that appeared on these coins. The research includes some questions about the types depicted on these coins, why Marcus Aurelius chose these types that appeared on Roman coins and others on Alexandrian coins, and what the Alexandrian influences that appeared on the emperor’s coins. This research provides explanations for all these questions and deals with a detailed study that includes an introduction and a study of the collection's denominations, inscriptions, and types that appeared on them. Moreover, an analytical catalog of these coins and plates.
