The sling bullets were known in Greek and Roman ancient times, they used in wars, which vary in their materials, shapes and decorations. They are mentioned by Homer in his Odyssey, Aristophanes in the play of birds, in addition to Xenophon and other greek and roman authors. The slingers showed in art when throwing the bullets against the enemies. The sling bullets were known also in pharaonic Egypt, and there are archaeological evidences for that such as a pair of slings found in the tomb of Tutankhamun, the sling was probably intended for the departed pharaoh to use for hunting game. Another Egyptian sling was excavated in El-Lahun in Al Fayyum. In Ptolemaic and roman Egypt were found a lot of sling bullets, differ in their materials such as stones, metals (bronze and lead) and terracotta, as well as their shapes like almond, oval and Spherical, and represented many of motifs and inscriptions. This study is aiming to bring to scholarly attention a collection of decorated sling bullets which are kept in the Cairo Egyptian Museum and Alexandria, Greco-Roman Museum, and also some published pieces in excavations reports and catalogues, through descriptive and analytical study. In addition to a comparative study between the greek and roman examples from outside Egypt and the Ptolemaic and Roman bullets. At last wewill connect between the motifs and inscriptions which portrayed on them and their uses
