الملخص:
تناولت هذه الدراسة الدلالات التصويرية لإيماءات رفع اليدين في فنون كل من مصر القديمة والعراق القديم، وقد قامت بتصنيف الدلالات والمعاني التي قصدها الفنان من تصوير تلك الإيماءات للأيدي المرفوعة، من حيث دلالتها على استجداء العفو أو الاستسلام، أو الخوف والرهبة، أو الحزن واليأس، أو إلقاء التحية، أو الانتصار، أو فرض الطاعة، أو تقديم فروض الولاء، أو كإيماءات تعبيرية أثناء الرقص والغناء، أو أثناء الحوار وتجاذب أطراف الحديث، أو ربما أثناء المشاجرات، وغيرها من الدلالات الأخرى، وجدير بالذكر أنه تم استبعاد الإيماءات ذات الدلالات الدينية لليدين المرفوعتين تماما من هذه الدراسة، لوجود العديد من الدراسات حول هذا الموضوع، كما أنه عقدت مقارنة بين دلالات الإيماءات موضوع الدراسة في كلتا الحضارتين من حيث أوجه التشابه والاختلاف فيما بينهما وذلك من حيث مناسبة الدلالة ومؤديها.
Non-Religious Pictorial Connotations of Hand-Raising Gestures in the Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamian Arts (A Comparative Study)
Abstract:
This study examined the iconographic connotations of hand-raising gestures in Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamian arts. It classified the artists' meanings and connotations by portraying the gestures of raised hands. The terms include its indication of a request for pardon or surrender, fear, dread, sadness, despair, greeting, victory, obedience, or loyalty, as well as expressive gestures during dancing and singing, while talking, or maybe during quarrels and other connotations. It is worth mentioning that religious gestures of hands raised have been completely excluded from this study. It also compares the connotations of the gestures studied in both civilizations concerning similarities and differences, in terms of their occasions and performers.
